Day 1: 21 March 2024

Our Ubuntu Festival 2024 kicked off with a bang! Music filled the air at the Novalis Ubuntu Institute in Wynberg, with Tumi Pheko, Pato Banton, Mthandazo, and Linomtha taking the stage. The Justice Desk Imbokodo and Insika Choirs also delivered powerful performances.

This amazing concert supported Justice Desk Africa’s fight for human rights.

Day 1 was a success, and the Ubuntu spirit is strong!

Day 2: 22 March 2024

Day Two of the Ubuntu Festival was a celebration of storytelling! Local filmmakers captivated audiences with tales of hope and social action, transporting us to the heart of Cape Town and beyond.

And finally, the crown jewel of the day! The screening of the award-winning documentary “The Spirit of Ubuntu” was followed by a captivating conversation with the filmmaker and team. These insightful dialogues allowed us to delve deeper into the film’s message and explore the essence of Ubuntu.

Day 3: 23 March 2024

Guga Sthebe expertly guided us through reflective community workshops, fostering a space for introspection and connection. These sessions culminated in a powerful panel discussion on “Ubuntu as Engaged Agency” at the Leah and Desmond Tutu Legacy Foundation.

Kneo Makgopa and Dr. Wanelisa Xaba, alongside other esteemed voices, ignited a dialogue on how we can translate Ubuntu principles into concrete actions for social change.

Day4: 24 March 2024

We explored the transformative power of indigenous practices, gaining valuable insights into holistic well-being.

The day’s highlight was a captivating keynote conversation featuring Dr. Mamphela Ramphele and other esteemed voices. Their powerful messages resonated deeply, reminding us of Ubuntu’s core principles and the transformative power of healing.

The festival concluded with a truly unifying experience! The InterFaith Iftar, hosted by the Turquoise Harmony Institute, was a vibrant display of Ubuntu in action.
